Early-morning crash on Central Texas interstate leaves 1 dead, 3 hurt

LEON COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) An early-morning crash on Interstate 45 in Leon County involving two 18-wheelers and a passenger car left one person dead and three others injured.

The accident happened at around 1:30 a.m. Monday south of Leona, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.

The driver of the passenger vehicle died at the scene and a passenger was flown to a Bryan hospital.

The drivers of both 18-wheelers were taken to hospitals by ambulance.

Information about their injuries wasn’t immediately available.

The crash shut down a portion of the highway for several hours.
