The Waco Fire Department is investigating a house fire in the 2300 block Lyle Avenue.

A fire official said the fire broke out at around 2:25 a.m. Wednesday.

When crews arrived the air was thick with smoke, making it difficult to see and begin putting out the fire.

Two adults in the house were already outside.

They are safe and staying with family because the house is apparently a total loss.

Officials say it took crews 20 minutes to get the fire under control.

Four fire units responded to the fire that officials described as “heavily involved”
