Investigators are trying to determine the cause of an early-morning fire that destroyed a house in Temple.

The fire was reported at around 2:30 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of 14th Street.

Flames had engulfed the house by the time the first crew arrived.

The house was vacant at the time of the fire, Temple Fire & Rescue spokesman Thomas Pechal said.

No one was injured.

Firefighters responded earlier to another fire in a vacant house.

The call came in at around 10:20 p.m. in the 500 block of East Avenue F.

Firefighters arrived to find flames showing from the front entrance.

They quickly extinguished the fire.

Damage was limited to the front door and surrounding wall.
