WACO, Texas (KWTX) Employees of Crestview Healthcare Residence at 1400 Lake Shore Dr. in Waco who said their paychecks hadn’t been good for about five weeks have been paid, the facility’s administrator, Mike Little, said Thursday.

"We wired their paychecks directly to them, basically as a direct deposit, and it appears we've confirmed their banks received them,” he said Thursday evening.

“We still have a few employees we are working with who do not have bank accounts to work out a way to get their paychecks to them."

Employees who contacted KWTX about the problem feared giving their names because they feared they could lose their jobs, but said their checks had bounced.

An employee of Chapman’s Check Cashing service in Waco, where some employees cash their checks, confirmed the problem.

“No one in town is taking Crestview checks anymore, this has been going on for a while,” the employee, who asked to remain anonymous, said.

Crestview is managed by New Jersey-based Concord Healthcare Group.

Calls to Concord were not answered Wednesday and the group’s website was down.

In June 2018, employees of the Copperas Hollow Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Caldwell reported the same issue with their paychecks.

Concord Healthcare Group was managing the facility at the time and said after a report by KBTX in Bryan, “We would like to confirm that recent payroll issues were immediately corrected."

In November, the Caldwell facility was taken over by an Arlington-based company, Southern Cross Senior Care.
