Driver dies after SUV crosses centerline, hits 2 vehicles on Hwy. 6

The Department of Public Safety Monday identified the driver who died after his SUV crossed the centerline and struck two other vehicles on State Highway 6 between Waco and Valley Mills as Larry Eaton, 73, of Missouri City.

The accident happened at around 9:40 a.m. Sunday about a half mile southeast of Delmar Ranch Road.

Investigators determined that Eaton was driving south on the highway when his Infiniti SUV crossed into the northbound lane and sideswiped a Nissan passenger car, DPS Sgt. Ryan Howard said Monday.

The Infiniti then collided with a northbound Toyota SUV.

Eaton died at the scene.

Occupants of the other two vehicles were injured, but the injuries were not life-threatening, Howard said.
