Possible arson fire that knocked out area power investigated

Authorities in Temple are investigating a possible arson case after a fire that knocked out power and phone and internet services to customers in the area.

According to the Temple Police Department, firefighters responded to a call about a grass fire in the 700 Block of Red Coat Drive on Thursday, March 21, just after 8 p.m.

When they got there, the found a wooden privacy fence and utility box burning in an alley.

According to the Department's Facebook Page, the fire damaged an AT&T utility box.

Phone and internet service was interrupted due to the damage.

Authorities said a group of juveniles was seen in the area.

The Fire Marshal's Office is working to identify those responsible for setting the fire.
