Thirty-five passengers were temporarily stranded Friday after fire broke out aboard a southbound Greyhound bus on Interstate 35 in Waco.

The passengers, who boarded in Dallas, were safely evacuated after the driver pulled over near Forest Street, north of the Brazos River.

Firefighters, who responded at around 10:15 a.m. Friday, said the cause was likely electrical.

Another bus was sent from Dallas to pick up the passengers and continue the trip to Laredo.

The fire was causing minor traffic delays late Friday morning.
