Eight local residents displaced as 3 homes go up in flames

Three homes caught fire and eight people were displaced as Bell County Officials responded to a fire in the 4200 block of Orchard Hill in Belton Saturday afternoon.

The fire started in one garage but then quickly spread to multiple homes and vehicles.

Belton fire was dispatched at 1:50 p.m. and arrived at 2:04 p.m.

According to Jason Woodard, assistant chief of Central Bell County Fire and Rescue, no one was injured.

When police, fire and rescue arrived at the scene, a garage was fully engulfed. No one was in the homes when they caught fire.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including Belton, Salado, Troy, Morgan’s Point, Central Bell and Southwest Bell Fire Departments.

Texas State Fire Marshals said the fire was under control after an hour, with the fire being contained at 4:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.

The Bell County Sheriff’s Department say the fire is still under investigation.
