Firefighters rescue teenager trapped in Central Texas grain elevator
Firefighters rescued a teenager who was trapped Thursday morning in a grain elevator in Clifton.
The 16-year-old boy wasn’t seriously hurt, but paramedics checked him out at the scene.
The teenager ended up buried up to his armpits after entering the elevator to clean an auger Thursday morning.
The elevator, in which wheat was stored, was almost empty at the time of the accident, but enough grain remained to pose a threat as rescuers extricated the teenager.
Firefighters were concerned that additional grain could fall on him,
Waco firefighters joined the rescue effort Thursday morning at Payne Agribusiness at 122 South Avenue D in Clifton.
