Chip Gaines, who earned a BBA in 1998, spoke to students Monday in two Introduction to business classes at the Paul L. Foster Campus of Business and Innovation, which is the home of the Hankamer School of Business.

Kimberly Mencken teaches the classes.

Gaines was introduced by Business School Dean Terry Maness, who told the students that 20 years ago Chip was sitting in this same class as they were, but just in a different building.

Gaines wrote about his journey of becoming an entrepreneur in his new book, "Capital Gaines: The Smart Things I've Learned from Doing Stupid Stuff."

Gaines started a number of businesses since he graduated, including a landscaping firm, a fireworks stand and a laundry before finding his niche in flipping homes.

Baylor says successful business graduates such as Gaines regularly speak to students in the class.
