Former Baylor Quarterback Seth Russell worked out with the Dallas Cowboys on Monday and tells KWTX it went well.

"The workout went really, really well today," Russell told KWTX via text message.

"(They) said I looked a lot stronger and had more zip on the ball. Legs looked really good and athletic."

Russell suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the Bears game against Oklahoma in November.

He later underwent surgery but always remained hopeful he'd play again.

"Counting my blessings tonight because things could have been a lot worse. This isn't the end..I will be back! " Russell posted on social media after the injury.

Following the workout today, Russell told KWTX he expects to hear something in the next month or so.

"Now it's just a waiting game," Russell said.

Russell added he had no other plans to work out with any other NFL teams, adding it would be a dream come true to be back in the Dallas area.

Russell is a graduate of Garland High School.
