Several reports confirmed Monday former Texas A&M basketball player David Edwards has died from the coronavirus.

Some of his former teammates posted on social media that Edwards had been in intensive care fighting the virus before his death.

The New York native transferred to Texas A&M from Georgetown to play for the Aggies and head coach Tony Barone.

Edwards played three seasons in College Station from 1991-94 and averaged 13.5 points as a senior, when he led Southwestern Conference in assists with 8.8.
