Fort Hood: Soldier found dead

Fort Hood Monday identified a soldier who was found dead during a visit to Georgia as Spc. Deangelo Marquis Mathis, 22, of Mauk, Ga.
He was found dead on July 26 in Sly County, Ga., Fort Hood said.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Criminal Investigation Command are investigating the death, Fort Hood said, but no further details were provided.
Mathis joined the army in July 2012 and since 2014 had been assigned to Fort Hood’s 1st Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 69th Air Defense Artillery Brigade.
