Fort Hood Wednesday released the name of a soldier who was found dead in an off-post hotel while attending an advanced course at Fort Rucker, Ala., as Chief Warrant Officer 2 Andre George Nance, 34, of Randallstown, Md.

The U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command is investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, Fort Hood said in a press release Wednesday.

Nance, who was attending the warrant officer advance course at Fort Rucker, had been assigned since December 2012 to Fort Hood’s Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, III Corps.

He deployed to Afghanistan from April 2009 to April 2010, January 2012 to March 2012 and from June 2014 to March 2015.

Nancy joined the Army in February 2004.
