Fort Hood: Soldier killed in Humvee rollover identified

Fort Hood Friday identified a soldier who died in a Humvee rollover on post as Pfc. Jacob Ryan Casebolt, 21, of Caney, Kan.

Casebolt died on Nov. 8 after the Humvee in which he and another soldier were riding overturned at around 4:15 p.m. near Elijah and Antelope roads.

The two soldiers were taken to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center after the accident.

The driver of the Humvee survived and was in stable condition Monday, but Casebolt was pronounced dead in the medical center’s emergency room.

Casebolt joined the Army in January 2017 and had been assigned to Fort Hood’s to 9th Calvary Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division since July.
