Fort Hood: Soldier who died of gunshot wound identified

Fort Hood Tuesday identified a soldier who died of a gunshot wound over the weekend in Killeen as Pvt. Wanya Bruns, 20, of Bellwood, Ill.

Bruns died Saturday, but no further details were released.

He joined the Army in February and since July had been assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team.

Killeen police are investigating the death, Fort Hood said.
