Fort Hood Soldier who died of gunshot wound identified

FORT HOOD, Texas (KWTX) Fort Hood has identified a soldier who died of an apparent gunshot wound Monday as 22-year-old Pfc. Randal Kenneth Anderson.

His hometown was listed as Sutter Creek, California.

Anderson entered active-duty service in February of 2015, and had been in the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood since June 2016.

He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.

The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation.
