FORT HOOD, Texas (KWTX) A team of military journalists was on standby Thursday at Fort Hood to deploy to the hurricane-ravaged Florida Panhandle.

The 7th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment received a “prepare to deploy order” to support efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.

The seven military journalists will document rescue and recovery efforts and assist civilian journalists.

In September 15 soldiers from the post headed to the Carolinas and others were on standby in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence.
