Fort Hood solider arrested after deadly shooting

ARLINGTON, Texas (KWTX) A Fort Hood soldier is in custody after a double shooting that left the suspect's wife injured and another man dead.

It happened just before noon on Monday outside of a Walgreen's drug store in Arlington.

Police say a man and woman were arguing on the sidewalk in front of the store when the suspect pulled and fired two shots.

One shot hit the sidewalk by her foot, the other struck her in the ankle.

When the woman went inside the drug store for help, the suspect got in a vehicle and attempted to flee, but a witness who pulled a handgun of his own pointed his gun at the suspect's vehicle.

According to police, the suspect got out of his car, slapped the gun out of the hand of the witness, and then shot the would-be good Samaritan in the head.

The victim was identified as Anthony Antell, Jr., 35.

Antell was a former Marine, a father of three, and the owner of a nearby fitness center.

The suspect was identified as Fort Hood soldier Ricci Bradden, 22.

Bradden is assigned to the 69th Air Defense Artillery Brigade.

A family member later drove him to the Department of Public Safety Office in Hillsboro where he surrendered to authorities.

Bradden is named in a warrant charging murder that recommends an initial bond of $500,000.

The wounded woman who identified herself as Bradden's wife was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
