WHITESBORO, Texas (KXII) One person was killed and two others were injured in a four-vehicle crash south of Whitesboro on U.S. Highway 377 Wednesday night.

State troopers said it happened at around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when a southbound vehicle ran into the back of a car whose driver had stopped to turn left at Gunter Road.

That vehicle was pushed into the northbound lane of the highway, where it was struck by a second vehicle.

The driver of that vehicle, William Gray, 67, of Whitesboro, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two of the other three drivers were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said.

The driver of the vehicle that made the initial contact was not injured.
