WACO, Texas (KWTX) One of the breakout stars of “Fixer Upper” who is getting his own TV show, is also getting his own book deal.

Clint Harp, Chip and Joanna Gaines’ ‘wood guy’ on the wildly popular HGTV home renovations series, announced this week his book Handcrafted will be coming out in the Fall.

“Getting to dive into this process and write a book to share my journey with all the other fellow journey-ers out there who might pick it up, is a dream come true,” Harp told KWTX.

The father of three who left a lucrative sales job in Houston to fulfill his calling to be a carpenter, said he’s been wanting to write a book since he was a teenager, and it’s been years in the making.

“Kelly and I first got married back in 2001, and after buying our first computer with our first tax return, I sat down and started typing out a book,” said Harp. “I didn’t get very far, but the desire was there (and had been since high school) to one day write a book.”

Harp said his wife Kelly and the rest of his team at Harp Design Co. in Waco have been beyond supportive, giving him time to write over the last four months while simultaneously filming the first season of his new show for the DIY Network – “Wood Work.”
