Fuller is the reigning Miss Texas and her visit to Spring Valley Elementary School was her first school visit since winning the title and one of the public appearances she’ll make while representing the state.

During her stop, she talked to the kids about how to be their best selves and to be a positive role model for their friends.

“I think especially in third and fourth grade, it is very important that they believe in themselves. So if they took away nothing else from my presentation, then I hope that they walk away confident in themselves and ready to go after whatever it is they want to be,” Fuller said.

Fuller was invited to the school by Midway High School graduate Brian Townley.

As part of a two-year intensive development program for student leaders, Townley was asked to give leadership advice to students and he took the lead to bring in Fuller in as an extra special guest.

The Fairfield native also talked to the kids about overcoming obstacles, something she knows well, it took her five tried before winning the crown.

Fuller is no stranger to working with children, before winning the title she was a kindergarten teacher.
