The main suspect, and possibly a second suspect, were attempting to break-in to vehicles in the Stoneridge Edition of Hewitt early Thursday morning, police Chief Jim Devlin said.

Cameras captured a man attempting to break-in to a car and a truck parked in one homeowner's driveway between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m., however, he was unsuccessful because the doors were locked.

Devlin said the same suspect was likely responsible for the successful burglary of a vehicle nearby on Oakmont Dr. where an item inside the vehicle was stolen.

The chief also says they have reason to believe this suspect, and possibly an accomplice, may be linked to recent motor vehicle burglaries in Waco.

Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect or whose vehicle was broken into is asked to call Hewitt police at (254) 666-6272.
