Democrat Stacey Abrams and Republican Brian Kemp are awaiting the final accounting of absentee and provisional ballots.

With reported votes approaching 3.8 million, Kemp is just shy 51 percent, but Abrams and her campaign say there are enough ballots outstanding to spur a runoff in December.

Kemp is expressing confidence in an eventual victory.
