Copperas Cove: Victim of deadly hit-and-run, suspect both identified

COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) Copperas Cove police Tuesday identified both the victim of an early-morning hit-and-run Monday in a residential neighborhood and the man charged in the deadly accident.

William Devauri Ames, 32, of Copperas Cove, was struck at around 6:40 a.m. Monday at the intersection of South 7th Street and Urbantke Lane and was pronounced dead about half an hour later.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop, police said, but officers later found him.

Lance Tyler Anderson is charged with accident involving personal injury or death.

His bond was set Tuesday at $100,000.
