Hit-and-run leaves local man dead

WACO, Texas (KWTX) Police were looking for a hit-and-run driver Tuesday after an early-morning hit-and-run in Waco that left a man dead.

Police identified the victim as Dwain Earl Lockhart, 61.

He died at a local hospital after he was struck while walking in the 700 block of North 26th Street, police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

Officers found him lying in the road at around 12:30 a.m., Swanton said.

An autopsy was ordered.
