Holly Tucker, 24, of Waco, has been nominated for Texas Country Music Association Awards for Female Vocalist of the Year and Country Album of the Year for “Steel.”

The 2015 Baylor University graduate, who starred during the fourth season of NBC’s “The Voice,” begins to wrap her “Steel” Tour.

“People kind of expect you to have this instant rise to fame after appearing or doing well on a show like “The Voice,” Tucker said in a press release Tuesday.

“Sure, that can happen, however the more realistic path to success in this industry takes a little more grit and a lot of hard work.”

Other Female Vocalist of the Year nominees include Bri Bagwell, Jessica Meuse, Morgan Ashley, and Victoria Leigh.

Country Album of the Year nominees also include Darrin Morris for “Country To the Bone,” Darrell Goldman for “The Bed I’ve Made,” and Justin Todd Herod for “True North.”

The awards will be presented on Sept. 28 in Carthage.
