A man linked to three fatal shootings since Friday has been captured by Harris County authorities.

Houston Police put local and statewide law enforcement on high alert Monday for 46-year-old Jose Rodriguez.

He is a registered sex offender out on parole after spending 28 years in prison and was believed to be armed and dangerous.

Investigators believe he cut off his ankle monitor within the last two weeks and went on a deadly crime spree starting with a home invasion last Monday.

Then four days later, officials believe he killed a woman in her Cypress home and then stole her vehicle.

Surveillance video released Monday night shows Rodriguez walking through the Willowbrook Mall on Saturday, after parking the victim's car.

That night, a young employee of a Mattress Firm store was found dead and just yesterday a third victim was found dead inside a Mattress One store just three miles away.

On Monday night, Houston police told the public that Rodriguez was likely driving one of his victims' vehicles.

Just after 7 a.m. Tuesday, officials announced they had captured Rodriguez in a northwest Harris County neighborhood off Eldridge Parkway just north of Fallbrook Drive.

Rodriguez was in fact driving one of the victim's cars when he was captured.
