TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) The 26th annual Tri-County Toy Run began early Sunday morning.
Hundreds of area motorcyclists gathered at the American Legion Post 133 to donate toys and bikes for 13,000 area children in need of gifts this year.
The caravan made its way through Bell and Coryell counties and ended in Lampasas to give out the gifts.
Bruce Raymond, chairman of the Tri-County Toy Run, noted that this day is very special to all those who participate.
"(It’s) very rewarding,” said Raymond. “You know, none of us get paid. Nobody, none of the volunteers, myself, John, none of us get paid. We do this to help these children. And it just amazes me how many we have within our three counties, that actually just dream about a Christmas.”
The American Legion says they begin collecting toys for next year’s toy run in February.
