NOLANVILLE, Texas (KWTX) An 18-wheeler that overturned and came to rest on its side closed the eastbound lanes of I-14/U.S. 190 Friday morning in Nolanville.

The accident shut down the eastbound lanes of highway from Paddy Hamilton Road to the top of Nolanville Hill.

Authorities expected the highway would remain closed until around lunchtime.

Department of Public Safety troopers had responded to an earlier crash in which a car hit a guardrail.

While they were investigating, the 18-wheeler, which was hauling gravel, veered off the highway.

The driver over-corrected and the rig struck another 18-wheeler in the outside lane and then overturned.

The rig’s 59-year-old driver was taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple with non-life-threatening injuries.

No one else was hurt.
