Belton police Wednesday identified a woman who was struck on southbound Interstate 35 as Yuricel Penaloza, 29, of Temple.

Penaloza was struck at around 9:50 p.m. Sunday by a 2004 Honda Accord near the Tahuaya Road exit between Belton and Salado.

No further details were released.

The southbound lanes in the area of the accident were closed for about four hours.
