KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Killeen ISD officials are investigating how an individual, later found to be a trespasser, was able to make it inside Ellison High School.
According to school officials, the intruder was discovered inside the high school Thursday.
In a letter to parents, Principal David Dominquez stated, "(individual) was determined to be neither a student nor a legitimate visitor, but rather, an intruder."
When confronted by staff members, Dominquez says the intruder fled.
District spokesman Terry Abbott confirmed that Killeen ISD police arrested the intruder.
"Our investigation is in progress to determine how the individual entered the building. We are also investigating any interaction between the intruder and students," the email said.
The school is asking any students who may have encountered the intruder to report the information to the assistant principals' office.
