Killeen: Ex-Teacher Sentenced In Student Sex Case

KILLEEN (January 7, 2016) A former Killeen High School teacher who pleaded guilty in June to sexual assault and having an improper relationship with a student and was sentenced to prison Thursday.

Samuel Antonio Caines, 57, was sentenced to six years in prison on each of three counts.

He’ll serve the sentences concurrently and will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Caines was indicted in October 2014 after he was arrested in June 2014 in connection with an investigation into allegations of a sexual relationship between September 2013 and June 2014 with the teenage girl, who was attending the high school, Killeen police spokeswoman Carroll Smith said at the time of the arrest.
