KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) A man wanted in connection with a machete attack in 2018 that left a Killeen man injured was in custody Monday.

Darrel Cooper Manley, 30, of Killeen, was named in a warrant charging aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the March 14, 2018 attack in a second-floor apartment in the 1800 block of North 8th Street in Killeen.

The attack stemmed from an argument over water that leaked from the victim’s apartment into the apartment below it, an arrest warrant affidavit said.

The victim was struck several times, suffered lacerations on his face, back, arms and fingers that required multiple stitches, the affidavit said.

The officers who responded to the attack found a “bloody large knife leaning against the front door frame.”

Manley was booked into the Bell County Jail on Saturday.

He’s held in lieu of $100,000 bond.
