Killeen: Teenager wanted for murder in Converse arrested here
Killeen police have arrested a teenager who’s wanted in connection with a capital murder case in Converse.
Converse police contacted the Killeen Police Department on Tuesday with information that Isaiah Luis Westman, 17, was in this area.
At around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Killeen officers assisted by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Westman without incident.
He was taken to the Killeen City Jail.
The warrant stems from the Feb. 25 shooting death of a 17-year-old boy in the parking lot of a community pool in converse.
The victim, Zachary Segura, had arranged a meeting with the suspect for unknown reasons, police said.
At some point, the victim and the suspect began to struggle over a backpack inside the vehicle in which Segura was sitting.
The suspect pulled the victim out of the front passenger seat of the vehicle and fired a round from a handgun, which struck the teenager in the head.
Segura later died.
