Crash between school bus, SUV sends 4 to local hospital

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Killeen police spent Thursday morning at the scene of a head-on crash between a Killeen ISD bus and a Dodge Nitro SUV.

The bus was headed to Live Oak Ridge Middle School at the time of the accident at around 7:45 a.m. at Robinett Road and Thunder Creek Drive.

The driver of the SUV, the bus driver, an aide and one child were taken to a local hospital with what police said were non-life-threatening injuries.

Six children were riding in the bus.

Parents were notified to pick them up.

The driver of the bus said the Nitro was swerving across the center line before the crash.

She said she stopped the bus, but said the Nitro hit it anyway.

We're told a total of six students and two adults were on the bus and parents were notified to pick up students.
