The Killeen Independent School District announced on Thursday it continues to sanitize its classrooms and campuses.

"We have been cleaning all high-touch areas including desks, keyboards, hand-rails, doorknobs, water fountains, desks, etc. as well as spraying a hospital-grade disinfectant throughout our campuses for several weeks now," the district said.

The district said it is "also in continuous communication with the Bell County Health District, the CDC and officials at Fort Hood" as it coordinates its efforts.

"While there have not been any confirmed cases of the Coronavirus in Bell County, we have been taking precautions and will continue to do so as decisions in and around our return to school from Spring Break approaches," the district said.

District officials said "any changes to the regular schedule will be appropriately communicated."

"The safety of our students, staff, and their families is our number one priority."
