Killeen: Local chapter of 'No More Violence' launches
To stop the violence in the city of Killeen, a brand new chapter of No More Violence was officially launched Saturday.
No More Violence, a Dallas-based organization, started in September of 2011 after the death of Deonte Johnson.
The organization helps families who have been affected by violence by providing resources and programs to help in the grieving process.
Gwendolyn Tyler, the Killeen chapter president, says having the organization in Central Texas is very important.
"We feel we need to reach them (children) before they get to middle school," Tyler said.
Earlier this summer, No More Violence held a youth convention in Killeen.
