Killeen: 3 victims of deadly shooting at local complex identified

Authorities Tuesday identified the woman and two men whom officers found dead after responding to a report of a water leak early Saturday at the Summerlyn Apartments at 4101 East Rancier Ave. in Killeen as Asia Cline, 22, Shaquan Markell Allred, 23, and Freddy Beningo Delacruz, Jr., 23.
The officers traced the leak to the apartment in which they found the three bodies.
All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
All three had been shot repeatedly.
Officers had responded to the complex at around 1 a.m. Saturday after gunfire was reported, but could not find the source, police said.
They returned about 40 minutes later after the water leak was reported.
Delacruz, of Vidalia, Ga., was an Army specialist who enlisted in November 2017 and had been assigned since April 2018 to the 1st Cavalry Division’s 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team.
“The Stallion family is truly devastated by the tragic loss of Spc. Freddy Delacruz,” said Lt. Col. Steven E. Jackowski, commander, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.
“He was an outstanding trooper. Each of us in the battalion are grateful for having known him and we collectively grieve his loss. I would like to send my deepest, heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.”
