Garage fire temporarily displaces local family

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) No one was injured in a fire that destroyed a home’s garage Thursday morning in Killeen, but the residents were temporarily displaced.

Firefighters responded to the 7100 block of Bose Ikard Drive just after 7 a.m.

Two of the three residents were in the house at the time.

Fire officials said they opened the door to the garage, saw smoke and were able to get out of the home.

No one was injured.

No other structures were affected.

Officials said the garage is heavily damaged, and the rest of the home received smoke damage.

They said the family has a place to stay, and the American Res Cross has been notified.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
