Police: Known suspect in Waco shooting not yet apprehended

WACO, Texas (KWTX & WPD) - Waco police are investigating a shooting where the victim was found lying in the middle of the street Saturday night.

According to a news release, shortly after 11:30 pm last night, officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of N. 21st St. on a reported shooting.

A male was said to be laying in the middle of the street bleeding.

Officers found the victim 24-year-old, Reginald Johnson with a gunshot wound in his upper leg/pelvis area.

The victim and other witnesses stated that a suspect, known to the victim, had shot Johnson.

Johnson was transported to a local hospital by AMR.

His condition is not available.

Officers later learned that the suspect and victim were having an argument and began to have a physical altercation, which lead to the shooting.

The known suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of responding officers.
