Large colony of bees found in house demolished by Franklin tornado

FRANKLIN, Texas (KWTX) Bees from a large colony in a house demolished Saturday by the tornado that struck Franklin were swarming Monday.

Professional beekeepers have removed most of the bees from the colony in the house at the corner of FM 46 and FM 2446 in Franklin.

“Please avoid that area on foot and keep your windows if you’re driving through,” the Robertson

The EF3 tornado with 140-mile-per-hour winds that plowed through Robertson County Saturday and damaged or destroyed 55 homes, a church under construction, four businesses, a food pantry, a duplex and part of the local housing authority building on the south side of Franklin.

More than a dozen people were injured, but none of the injuries was believed to be life-threatening.

Two people were hospitalized.

No deaths were reported.
