Linda Ronstadt makes rare appearance at Dolly Parton tribute

LOS ANGELES (AP) Linda Ronstadt was a surprise guest to congratulate Dolly Parton on being named the Recording Academy's MusiCares Person of the Year on Friday.

Parton was so excited to see Ronstadt, Parton knocked her award onto the floor.

It did not get broken.

Chris Stapleton sang "9 to 5," while Pink sang "Jolene."

Yolanda Adams performed "I Will Always Love You."

Among the other musicians who appeared were Emmylou Harris, Garth Brooks, Brandi Carlile, Miley Cyrus, Kacey Musgraves, Katy Perry, Don Henley, Shawn Mendes and Willie Nelson.
