Waco police were looking for a suspect Monday after a man walked into a Bush’s Chicken restaurant and used a handgun to hold the place up on Sunday night.

Officers were sent at about 11:10 p.m. Sunday to the Bush’s Chicken, at 3632 North 19th St. after a caller reported a man had robbed the store, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

The man, was 5-feet, 8-inches to 5-feet, 10-inches tall and about 220 pounds, was dressed on a black shirt and black pants and wore his hair in dreadlocks, Swanton said.

The bandit came in the store, pulled a handgun with which he threatened employees, and demanded cash from the register.

An employee turned over an undisclosed amount of cash and the man left the store, but it wasn’t known whether he left on foot or in a vehicle, Swanton said.

No one was injured and there have been no arrests.
