The Sam’s Club store in Harker Heights was evacuated late Wednesday morning and a Killeen police K-9 unit was requested, after the story received a bomb threat.
Employees and customers were standing in the parking lot of the store at 600 West Central Texas Expressway as a light rain fell.
Police blocked off store entrances and officers were inside investigating.
By around 12:30 p.m., it appeared customers were being allowed to go back into the store.
The threat was reported to Harker Heights police just before 11:25 a.m. Wednesday.
The caller said there was a bomb in the store and then hung up, police said.
Within about an hour, with the help of the bomb-sniffing dog, police cleared the building.
