Local Walmart evacuated because of bomb threat

LAMPASAS, Texas (KWTX) The Walmart Supercenter in Lampasas was evacuated Thursday morning because of a bomb threat, but a sweep of the store turned up no evidence of explosives, police said.

Police received a report just before 10 a.m. Thursday that the store had received the threat

Police and firefighters responded and conducted a walk-through of the building that turned up nothing suspicious.

A canine explosive detection team from Fort Hood was called in to conduct a search of both the inside and outside of the building, which also turned up no evidence of explosives, police said.

The store was given an all-clear just after noon Thursday.
