A Waco boy who ducked under a bed and called 911 thwarted a burglary Thursday afternoon, police said.

The boy’s mother was running an errand when he heard someone trying to break in through the rear door of the home in the 1600 block of McKenzie Avenue, police said.

He hid under a bed, dialed 911 on his cellphone and provided police with details of what was happening as officers responded.

The youngster said he was scared, but felt safe when an officer grabbed his hand and led him out of the house.

Officers arrested Traveon Dwayne Goode, 17, of Bellmead and

Dazavion Crane, 18, of Waco, whose 19th birthday is Sunday.

They were both taken to the McLennan County Jail facing burglary of a habitation charges, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

They both were wanted in unrelated cases; Goode was named in a felony theft of a motor vehicle warrant and Crane was wanted on Class C misdemeanor warrants, Swanton said.
