KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Solix, Inc., plans to expand services at its call center in downtown Killeen, adding as many as 180 jobs over the next three years, the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday.

The facility was one of several the company considered expanding, including one in El Paso.

The company chose Killeen in part because of an incentive package that the Killeen Economic Development Corporation offered, the chamber said.

“I am excited that we were able to facilitate this agreement with Solix. They are clearly committed to continued investment in downtown Killeen, an area the city has worked tirelessly to redevelop,” Killeen Mayor Jose Segarra, a KEDC board member, said.

To qualify for the incentives, the company must maintain a minimum base employment of 175 predating the effective date of the agreement and must maintain 180 additional full-time positions over a 36-month period after the effective date of the agreement.

The company must maintain its facility at 402 East Avenue D and lease an additional 6,000-square-foot facility for a second downtown operation.
