With Cinco de Mayo falling on Taco Tuesday this year, it's double-trouble, and a famous pastry chef in Bell County is going all out.

Lilian "Lily" Halabi, owner of Lily's Cakes in Harker Heights, created some festive confections for this year's amped-up celebration including churro-inspired taco cupcakes and margarita cupcakes.

Although many believe Cinco de Mayo is "Mexican Independence Day,” it’s not.

It’s actually a celebration of the Battle of Puebla in honor of Mexico's victory over French forces in1862.

Residents who want to purchase the Cinco de Mayo-themed deserts Tuesday can call (254) 319-3555 before Lily's Cakes closes at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Halabi won 'Cake Wars' on the Food Network in 2017.
