GATESVILLE, Texas (KWTX) A Coryell County man who was on the run for six months was behind bars Tuesday after deputies found him hiding in a shed following a search of a rural area.

Oney Travis Cox, 39, was held without bond Tuesday in the Coryell County Jail on a probation revocation warrant.

Deputies arrested him after responding Sunday to a report of a disturbance in the 5000 block of County Road 139 in the Pearl community.

After the deputies spotted him, Cox got out of his vehicle and ran into a wooded area, authorities said.

One deputy reported that a shot was fired and the sheriff’s Special Response Team was requested.

Deputies established a perimeter and began a search of outbuildings in the area.

They found Cox in the shed and arrested him after a brief scuffle.

He’s also charged with assault causing bodily injury/family member, evading arrest and driving with an invalid license.

A family member injured during the disturbance was treated at the scene.
